A sad farewell to our gorgeous cat, Amber
It was  a very sad day for us today as we had to say our final goodbye to our lovely cat Amber. He had reached the ripe old age of nineteen years, not a bad age for a cat who at just a couple of months old had been abandoned along with his brother, Claret, by his first owner.  We were lucky to have adopted them from The Cats Protection League and really enjoyed having both of them as our pets. Amber was a wonderful puss who did not even chase birds!  We will miss him very, very mu...

We had a great day at the 2015 AA Bed and Breakfast Awards!
Gordon and I had a wonderful time on 12 May 2015 at the AA Bed and Breakfast Awards 2015. Here we are (centre) pictured with AA's Giovanna Grossi and the CEO of Eviivo, receiving our Certificate as The Dulaig was a Finalist in the "Friendliest B&B of the Year" for Britain and Ireland.  We also received this lovely engraved decanter and we feel honoured to have been nominated by the AA Hotel Inspector.

Solar Eclipse over The Dulaig
We were very lucky in Grantown-on-Spey to see great views of the partial solar eclipse today.  Having had cloudy, rainy skies all morning we were delighted when the skies cleared just before the eclipse started - and even happier that, as if by magic, the clear skies lasted until the end of the eclipse. This is the view through a special solar filter. You can see a sunspot at around the 10 o'clock position on the sun. It was a real treat to witness this very special event, e...
