One rescued hedgehog = two rescued kittens......!
In my previous post I told of taking to a rescue centre a baby hedgehog we rescued, but the happy story does not end there. Whilst at Munlochy Animal Aid I mentioned to Iona who runs the sanctury that in August we had had to say goodbye for the last time to Amber, our gorgeous 19 year old cat. Isla asked if we were looking for another cat and I said we would wait for the right cats at the right time.....and she produced these two beautiful female kittens, about 10 weeks old and needing a good...

Our first hedgehog rescue of 2015
We found this little hedgehog, our first Autumn Juvenile of the year, on our drive at The Dulaig last night. It looks in good condition but weighing only 400 grams it is highly unlikely to be able to put on enough weight to enable it to reach 750 grams before it hibernates for winter here in the Scottish Highlands.  We kept it indoors overnight, fed it on catfood which it loved, and today took it for overwintering to Munlochy Animal Rescue about 60 miles away.  We are lucky t...

The craftsmanship is obvious both in the distilling and in the restoration of the buildings - just look at this lovely old lock on the restored spirit safe.  Although it will be some years before the whisky will be ready to drink you can book an appointment a...

Here we are (centre) pictured with AA's Giovanna Grossi and the CEO of Eviivo, receiving our Certificate as The Dulaig was a Finalist in the "Friendliest B&B of the Year" for Britain and Ireland.  We also received this lovely engraved decanter and we feel honoured to have been nominated by the AA Hotel Inspector.

The Dulaig is a Finalist in the AA Bed and Breakfast Award for the "Friendliest B&B of the Year 2015"
We are delighted to let the news out....we are Finalists in the AA Bed and Breakfast Award for the Friendliest B&B of the Year 2015! The Award takes in AA B&Bs from Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. We were nominated by a Hotel Inspector who stayed with us anonymously and heard about our selection a few weeks ago. It came as a complete surprise and we were asked by the AA to keep the news under wraps until the winner is announced in London on 12 May 2015......but when we read abou...
